Today, I’m sharing news regarding the future of our company.
After an incredible journey in the US and Europe, we have made the tough decision to wind down Twincler.
The global economic environment in 2023 changed the way platforms prioritized their trust and safety investments and thus impacted the acquisition process we found ourselves in as the new economic reality hit the US tech industry.
While 2023 will be another profitable year for Twincler, we believe it's essential to recognize when to gracefully conclude this chapter to pave the way for new opportunities.
Reflecting on our journey, I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together. The team went far and beyond to build zero-to-one technology that kept users safe and platforms healthy at a global scale.
We pushed against the abuse of content platforms when no one else did, built a scalable product at a time when the trust and safety industry didn’t even exist, and challenged the large-scale safety and security systems of the world’s most sophisticated tech companies. Together, we helped improve the safety and security of millions of users - during elections, terrorist attacks, and the war in Ukraine and Israel.
The Twincler approach was progressive, even for Silicon Valley. From being able to detect harmful content on average 83 days earlier than industry-leading systems to reducing leads for intelligence desks to review up to 54% week-over-week, our achievements have been nothing short of remarkable. The impact we've made is because of the dedication, resilience, and brilliance of the humble team.
Our greatest achievements lie not just in our novel technology that redefined the way counter-abuse teams think about safety engineering, but in the relationships we fostered with our clients. To everyone who believed in our technology, and trusted us by becoming a customer, your support was invaluable. Your collaboration and faith in our capabilities fueled our drive to innovate and deliver beyond what we thought we were able to.
While this marks the end of Twincler, it's important to recognize and celebrate this journey, the successes, the lessons learned, and the people we met along the way. We were incredibly lucky to have worked with some of the brightest minds in tech of our time. We are grateful for the time you invested in us. We learned a lot from you.
The startup journey is an unpredictable volume of genuinely existential experiences, compressed in a tiny period of time. Thanks to the community, friends, and family who supported us, and to the folks we met for the first time and who gave us a shot.
My deepest thanks goes to our wonderful advisors, peeps, and founder friends of other startups. You were unconditionally there, asked questions, shared your honest thoughts, helped when help was needed, laughed with us, celebrated with us, and supported us - no matter what. We couldn’t have been more lucky to have you by our side.
Though the Twincler story ends here, I’m excited about what lies ahead for each and everyone of us.
Thanks to everyone who was an integral part of the Twincler journey.
